ABOUT US
United Africa Advisory Board (UAAB)
WHO WE ARE
The United Africa Advisory Board (UAAB) was established in partnership with the Office of County Executive Aisha Braveboy to serve as a unified voice for African residents in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
UAAB was created to strengthen civic engagement, expand opportunity, and build lasting representation for the African diaspora. Through collaboration, cultural recognition, and access to local government resources, we are ensuring that African communities are seen, supported, and heard.
Why We Exist
Prince George’s County is home to one of the largest and fastest‑growing African immigrant populations in Maryland. Yet, for many years, our community has faced challenges in accessing resources, navigating systems, and ensuring representation in key decision‑making spaces.
UAAB exists to close those gaps by advocating for inclusion, promoting civic awareness, and driving community‑led solutions.

MISSION & VISION
To foster an inclusive and equitable environment by recognizing and addressing the diverse needs of our African communities.
UAAB exists to empower African residents through civic participation, education, and access to economic and social opportunities. Our mission goes beyond advocacy and builds an ecosystem of collaboration, mentorship, and shared progress. By linking community members, government officials, and local organizations, we help shape policy and initiatives that reflect the true needs of the African diaspora.
We believe that lasting growth begins with unity, knowledge, and representation. Through consistent engagement, UAAB works to ensure that every African resident in Prince George’s County has a seat at the table, a voice in decision-making, and a path toward prosperity.
To become the unified voice of the African community in Prince George’s County building strong, strategic, and enduring relationships that empower generations to come.
